New Business Development Director
Dave Andrews joins Meridian from Roche headquarters in Basel, Switzerland, after two and a half years as a Communications Manager in Roche Pharma Communications specialising in Development and Partnering communications.
Dave’s experience encompasses both scientific and clinical research in academia and within the pharmaceutical industry. Previously, he worked within different medical communications agencies for over 10 years where his responsibilities included communications programmes in R&D as well as marketing/promotional strategies and covered a range of therapy areas. He excels specifically in virology/infectious diseases, inflammatory medicine, and metabolic diseases.
Boosting the Editorial Team at Meridian HealthComms
Two Medical Writers, Deborah Stanford, PhD and Catherine Jessop, PhD join the thriving in-house team.
Deborah joins Meridian from another medical communications agency where she held a similar position. She obtained both her first class honours degree in chemistry with pharmacology and her PhD in organic chemistry from the University of Liverpool. Before embarking on a career in medical writing Deborah was a synthetic medicinal chemist at the AntiMal Malaria Drugs Initiative, Liverpool, specialising in the synthesis and development of novel antimalarial drugs.
Catherine holds a first class degree in biology and Wellcome Trust-funded PhD in biochemistry, both gained at the University of Manchester. She leaves her current post as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University where her research focused on protein folding and post-translational modification of proteins in eukaryotic cells.
Deborah and Catherine both have a number of scientific publications in their own specialist research fields.
